Modiphius Entertainment’s Kickstarter for Robert E. Howard’s Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of just hit its starting goal of about $64,000 dollars in a scant two hours since its launch. The campaign has accrued an amount just short of $150,000 so far.
Robert E. Howard’s Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of is going to be a 368-page full-color hardcover core rulebook, the key to immersing yourself in the world of famed barbarian hero Conan. The game will use the 2D20 system by Modiphius- the same system is used in Infinity and John Carter Warlord of Mars.
The game boasts a gigantic line-up of world-renowned artists, with legendary illustrator Brom (Who had a hand in little projects like Doom II: Hell on Earth and Diablo II and III) being one of them. We’ll see art from big names in Conan and the fantasy art scene at large, like Simon Bisley (Lobo, Slaine, Batman and Heavy Metal), Mark Schultz (Superman, Flash Gordon, Aliens), and Esteban Maroto (Vampirella, Eerie, Red Sonja).
The project is being guided by Conan scholars like Jeffrey Shanks, Patrice Louinet and Mark Finn, with a writing team helmed by Jason Durall. This game is going to be as Conan as it gets with a dream team like this behind it, probably to the delight of die-hard Conan fans.
With the amount pledged by fans so far, Modiphius has unlocked the Blessing of Mitra stretch goal, which promises double-sided Hyborian map vs Brom Cover Art. Other unlocked rewards include a core rulebook chock full of gorgeous art, the first floor tile set and the Conan the Thief full-color hardcover sourcebook.
From the way things are shaping up, Robert E. Howard’s Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of is promising to become a juggernaut in the roleplaying world, and with the initial funding goal being met in just 2 hours, fans agree.
Modiphius has previously produced 4 successful Kickstarters: Achtung! Cthulhu, Mutant Chronicles, Thunderbirds Co-Operative Boardgame and Infinity.
Robert E. Howard’s Conan: Adventures in an Age Undreamed Of’s Kickstarter campaign was launched on February 16th. Additionally, a free Quickstart download will be made available on Thursday.
