Arizona-based developer Running with Scissors, the minds that have brought us the absolutely insane POSTAL franchise, are back with POSTAL Redux.

POSTAL Redux is going to be a remake of the first twin-stick shooting game in the franchise, toting new content for new players and returning gamers alike.

POSTAL Redux is slated for a Spring 2016 release on the Windows PC, Steam OS and Mac. And for the first time ever, a POSTAL game will finally be playable on a console with a release date for the PlayStation 4 later in the year.

The POSTAL remake will have players taking on the role of The Postal Dude in this psychological thriller venture. The high definition remake will be introducing Rampage Mode, a single-player mode where players try to top high scores in each given level. At the end of every level, the player will be graded based on the number of kill streaks, the creativity of destruction methods, and their overall speed.

As stated on the Steam page, POSTAL Redux will give players 17 levels in the main Campaign to traverse: starting from The Postal Dude’s own Home, players will travel through surreally-rendered destinations like The Mine and Carnival, to arrive at the Air Force Base for the final showdown.

Throughout the game, they’ll face a variety of enemies, from Police Officers to Marching Bands- and they won’t go unarmed because POSTAL Redux will feature 9 weapons of mass destruction. Trigger-happy players can take up arms with a Shotgun or Spray Cannon, or Grenades and Flamethrowers if they want to clear crowds fast.

The POSTAL games have always been known for the outrageous action, the grim tones, and throwing political correctness to the wind, and it looks like the POSTAL remake isn’t going to be any different.

“Even with all the noise surrounding POSTAL, gamers focused on the experience, playing the game by the millions, giving it great user reviews and helping us not only survive, but flourish. POSTAL Redux is a love letter to our fans,” said Vince Desi, founder of Running With Scissors.
