After the conclusion of the first Mass Effect trilogy (to great controversy, as you may know), fans have been excited for the launch of the newest entry in the series: Mass Effect Andromeda. It’s easy to say that we’ll eat new scraps and bits of info at this point.

BioWare has mostly been mysterious about the new title so far, but they assure that development is going “at full pace” even after the departure of senior development director Chris Wynn from the team at the tail end of last year.

Scheduled to arrive later this year, Mass Effect Andromeda places players in the shoes of a completely new character, trading in the old N7 ones used by Shepard. This was first revealed at E3 2015 and while there hasn’t been a lot of info about the game so far, BioWare kindly decided to grace us, the unworthy, with a little tease when a developer tweeted his thoughts on the hour of gameplay.

Cameron Lee, a lead producer at BioWare Edmonton who worked on 2014’s well-received Dragon Age Inquisition and is currently on the team for a new IP, posted a series of tweets sharing his opinions on the game. And while he isn’t on the development team for the game itself, it’s still enough to incite some hype out of fans.

Mass hyperventilation was reported.

“Just finished playing the first hour of Mass Effect: Andromeda… #DevPerk” is the first tweet that kicked things off.

Much like the third title in the series,  Andromeda supposedly throws you into the middle of the fray right from the beginning. Lee mentions “shooting things in the face” during the first hour, which is pretty telling.

I am kind of sad we didn’t get a screenshot at least, but at this point, beggars can’t be choosers.

Andromeda lands later this year on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Watch the latest teaser which released in November and tell us how excited you are!
