Fighting your way through a zombie apocalypse might be a fun thought. luckily, we’re not there yet and we get to practice our survival skills online thanks to video games like H1Z1.

Sure, a lot of zombie first-person shooter games have come and gone, but Daybreak Game Company wants to evolve this one. They recently announced the separation of H1Z1 into two separate games being: H1Z1: Just Survive and H1Z1: King of the Kill.  Although technically twins, both games will have an entirely different and should be seen as different gaming experiences.

In H1Z1: Just Survive you play as one of the few remaining humans who has survived the evolved H1N1 virus outbreak (which is the H1Z1 in case you didn’t know). You need to do everything in your power to survive and you’ll have to survive the flurry of beasts, zombies and of course, humans. Build, scavenge and hunt your way to survival in this marvellous, conceptually realistic zombie apocalypse game.

For most of the H1Z1 community, the game is about intense non-stop action. This brings us to H1Z1: King of the Kill,  a separate game mostly inspired from H1Z1’s battle royale, specializing in multiple fight-to-the-death game modes. You will be thrown into an arena, and you’ll need to be the last man standing.

Both H1Z1: King of the Kill and H1Z1: Just Survive will be available on Microsoft Windows through Steam early access for $19.99 each on February 17th.  Up until then, H1Z1 is is available for purchase on steam and currently in the  Steam Lunar Sale.  Daybreak Game Company has said that players who purchase before February 16th will be given both games on the day of the official split.  Finally, Playstation 4 and Xbox One versions of the game will be released this summer but a date has not been confirmed as of yet.
