Before we began to see yearly releases, buggy gameplay, and character models with no faces; the first Assassin’s Creed presented players with an all new perspective on history and science fiction. While the original Assassin’s Creed wasn’t perfect, there are plenty of new technologies and mechanics that would allow Ubisoft to re-create the magic of their first ever Assassin’s Creed video game, in order to let people who no longer own last generation consoles play the beginnings of Desmond Miles’ journey.

With an Assassin’s Creed film releasing on December 16th, now is the perfect time to get people excited about it all over again.

  1. Sonic the Hedgehog

Sonic the Hedgehog has had disappointing releases over the past few years, but many fans still adore the blue bomber and his need for speed. While many people would love a Sonic Adventure HD remake, I personally believe that what makes more sense is to go back to the series’ roots and remake the original, taking us back to where it all began. This worked for Mario, as the New Super Mario Bros. franchise gives us what we love about Mario, with new modern twists. Is it so strange to think that fans would enjoy going back to the series’ beginnings? The indie title Freedom Planet got rave reviews, a new Sonic the Hedgehog remake would probably do just as well if done correctly.

  1. Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic

With the popularity of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, many fans of the Knights of the Old Republic series would LOVE a third game in the franchise. However, since an announcement for that seems unlikely, perhaps Bioware could go back to their roots, and remake the original game to modern standards. Bioware created a masterpiece with Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and it only makes sense to have a remake or new Star Wars game entry in the franchise release now that Star Wars is becoming popular again.

While there are many other video games that could best added to this list; the games above are some that not everyone thinks about, yet are deserving of a remake all the same. These games could breathe new life into the gaming industry and show a new generation of gamers the same sort of experiences enjoyed by those before them.
