Daum Games’ pay-to-play MMORPG Black Desert Online beta (the second closed beta) opens its gates to players at 8:00am UTC, February 18th, 2016. The beta will go on until February 22, during which it will close at the same time.

Players who have pre-ordered either the Explorer’s or Conqueror’s packages are guaranteed a slot. Additionally, those who have pre-ordered Black Desert Online are free to reserve their names ahead of launch. If you haven’t done either and want in on the action, you can still sign up for a chance to take part in the Black Desert Online beta.

Along with returning special in-game events like the Bait Master Tour, players can look forward to new ones such as a triathlon challenge. All rewards won will be carried over to the player’s account when the game officially launches.

As you might recall, Black Desert Online character creation made rounds around the internet for being crazy-intensive. If you want to poke around the Black Desert Online character creation tool, will be downloadable for free up until February 22, 2016. You can check out a preview of that below:

Additionally, the team has launched an official Twitch channel, where you can watch the Black Desert Online beta test starting at 5:30pm on the first day.

Lore–exploration and exposition abound in the opening cinematic, to which Youtuber and man behind archaic internet meme Chocolate Rain Tay Zonday lends his voice.

Black Desert Online is set for an official launch early next month on March 3.
