  1. Death Stranding

Platform: PS4, PC
Release date: TBA

Hideo Kojima is back! And it seems he isn’t the only one! Death Stranding is a brand new title from Kojima productions that has serious star power behind it. Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead is the protagonist, and while we don’t know much yet, I am sure that Norman isn’t the only big name this title will have associated with it. After blowing people’s minds with a bizarre trailer at E3, Death Stranding is sure to be the video game that is on everyone’s mind in the months to come.

  1. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Platform: Nintendo NX, Wii U
Release date: 2017

As a fan of The Legend of Zelda series that felt…let down by Skyward Sword, I can honestly say that with The Breath of the Wild everything that fans love and enjoy about the franchise has returned in spades, while also seeing the series evolve in new, unique ways. The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild looks and feels like an instant classic, with a large open world to explore, brand new game mechanics such as cooking and crafting, and an all new story that seems just as expansive and intense as the world it is set in. There is so much that I could say about The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, but I would much prefer to let you find out more, the footage shown at E3 gave me a feeling that just can’t be translated into words.

  1. Crash Bandicoot Trilogy Remastered

Platform: PS4
Release date: TBA

Crash Bandicoot is back! The first three games in the popular platformer Crash Bandicoot series are being remastered in HD for the Playstation 4. Join Crash, Coco, and Aku Aku as they attempt to thwart Doctor Neo Cortex in the adventures that made Crash such a beloved figure and Naughty Dog Mascot. Not much is known about the Crash Bandicoot remaster yet, but being a huge Crash fan, I am greatly excited to see what Vicarious Visions does with it. With any luck this could bring hype back to the franchise and maybe lead to a new Crash game in the future.

  1. Scalebound

Platform: PC, Xbox One
Release date: 2017

Scalebound is Platinum Games’ first foray into the Role playing genre, with a brand new Action RPG where you are put in the role of a man named Drew, who has a dragon companion named Thuban. Unlike Platinum Games’ other titles, Scalebound is focusing on the RPG elements more than the combat, hoping to create a fluid experience that still provides great depth to it. Drew and Thuban are bonded together, giving Drew the capability to heal Thuban at will, or even fuse with him into a powerful merged form. The catch to this bond is that if Drew or Thuban die the other dies as well. We don’t know much about Scalebound’s story yet, but with Platinum Games’ track record of great game mechanics; I am greatly excited for Scalebound.

That is by no means all of what E3 2016 had to offer, but it is a great announcement list to get you started and hopefully gets you curious about what is coming to the gaming world in 2016 and 2017.
