Seldom can you find awesome turn based tactical games. Trust me, I’ve tried a lot but enjoyed only a few. Worry not though, in a few days from now, we can experience one of the few remaining tactical games that will likely satisfy our craving for alien bloodshed. XCOM 2, the sequel to XCOM: Enemy Unknown (developed by Fireaxis Games), will be released this coming February 5!

Set 20 years after the events of Enemy Unknown, Earth is defeated and controlled by the ADVENT coalition and their alien masters as the human resistance fall back into exile, far and hidden from sight. Unknown to most, they are starting to operate again to hopefully take back what is rightfully theirs and free humanity from alien control (talk about politics, man).

You again take the role as the Commander, who has been recently placed in alien statis for some unknown reason. Currently taking command of the Avenger, (a supply barge from aliens converted to XCOM’s new mobile base) you go on a mission to eliminate aliens in the most tactical way possible. Just like most turn based tactical games, you are free to go loud in your assault, just try not to die though or else you’ll end up starting all over again especially in multiplayer (Sometimes, the Rambo inside you cannot be stopped…).

That’s just the broad view of it and I’m sure the game is going to take some twists and turns in the plot, making XCOM 2 a delightful experience to the fans of the franchise and excited gamers alike.

XCOM 2 is available for PC only.
