Naruto Shippuden Ultimate Ninja Storm gets the eSports treatment with Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe’s Storm Championship!
Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe has just freshly announced the STORM Championship, intended to place Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja STORM 4 into the competitive fighting game scene.
Hailed by both media and Naruto fans as the most dynamic and refreshing Naruto gaming experience yet, CyberConnect2’s Naruto Shippuden: Ultimate Ninja STORM 4 has shipped out more than 1.3 million units as of earlier this month, February 8th. Fans are able to enter the world of Naruto with a completely redone battle system to fuel the 3D fights and a rather sizable roster of characters from the beloved shonen franchise.
Benoit Scappazzoni, Product Manager for Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe, stated the following regarding STORM Championship Season 1: “For the past few years we have been monitoring the growth of the STORM community across Europe, Middle-East, Africa and Australasia but also the growing interest in the competition. Last year we have launched the STORM-LEAGUE, a platform to support those activities… This year we go even further by organizing the first season of the STORM Championship through the STORM-LEAGUE! The first season will have a total cash prize of 15 000€ and starts this week! Get ready for epic battles and see you at the finals in the ESL Studio (Cologne)!”
STORM Championship Season 1 will pit Ultimate Ninja STORM 4 players against one another with 15,000€ (About 16,000 USD) on the line. Those interested can register for the first qualifier on March 2nd, 2016, with two other qualifiers open on March 7th and March 10th. The winner of each tournament will bring home 100€ (About 100 USD) home and secure a place in the Grand Finals held at ESL Studio in Cologne on March 19th this year.
The STORM Championship Season 1 Grand Finals will be streamed on two Twitch channels: ESL’s Twitch channel, and Bandai Namco Europe’s.
