Games Telltale Games Could Make

Ah, Telltale Games. In 2012, you both stole and destroyed my heart with the first season of your Walking Dead game. The tale of Lee Everett, a convict just trying to protect young Clementine from the Zombie Apocalypse was an emotionally powerful game. One I’ve never truly forgotten. Since then, you moved to new projects, Batman, Game of Thrones, Minecraft: Story Mode and even something Marvel related. Telltale Games have somewhat of a talent for producing original characters and storylines in already established universes both gaming and television based. So I’ve been thinking about it for a bit and here are a few things I’d love to see them take on.

WWE: A Telltale Games Fake Sporting Event

Champion getting slammed

Despite that somewhat snarky title, I’m a very dedicated wrestling fan. Part of being a dedicated wrestling fan is being in that weird position of being both a fan and believing that I can write the show myself. It’s a weird thing wrestling, we know it’s scripted, the winners are pre-determined and such, but for some reason, the way in which the show is still presented as a legitimate sporting event creates this weird thing leaving fans way more immersed in the world of Professional Wrestling.

Wait, where am I going with this? Totally the wrong direction. Anyway, Telltale making a WWE licensed game could be amazing! While I imagine this in my head I do question how the actual wrestling part of this would work, largely as Quick Time Events I’d presume. I’d love to see Telltale Games produce their own wrestling story, something involving an original wrestler who rises through the ranks from NXT Rookie all the way to WWE World Heavyweight Champion and closing out as a Hall of Fame maybe?

They could really open up the possibilities of where it could go by leaving the player’s status with fans totally open to them. They can be a good guy or a “Face” or follow the darker side of things as a “Heel” with the game providing opportunities to freely flip between flip sides? I’d love to see Telltale Games take on WWE.

Mass Effect: A Telltale Game that Will Hopefully End in a way that all the Fans Won’t Hate

Mass Effect ft Minecraft

Mass Effect: Andromeda may be on the horizon, but the world Mass Effect is so rich with detail and stories. Telltale Games have worked within other game’s universes before as we’ve seen with Tales from the Borderlands and Minecraft: Story Mode. With all the different alien cultures, space pirates and criminal syndicates and such. Telltale Games taking on the Mass Effect franchise could be something truly special.

Also, alien sex.

Assassin’s Creed: Another one? There’s So Many of These Games but it’s a Telltale Games Series so I’ll give it a try

Assassin's Creed ft Borderlands

I’m getting really snarky with these titles aren’t I? None-the-less, like Mass Effect. Assassin’s Creed has a pretty huge storyline with some nicely detailed lore to go with it. Plus, there’s plenty of novels and written fiction that also tie into the universe so there’s an abundance of work for Telltale Games to play with. I’m open to seeing what Telltale Games could do with the Assassins Creed Universe.

Also, I like the parts of those games where you stab things in the face, neck because it’s really fun.

24: A Telltale Games Series

TV Show 24 with a Telltale Games logo

Imagine if Telltale did a 24 game? It fits with their style, 24 was largely a show in which bad people did bad things and Jack Bauer often found himself doing bad things to try and stop the bad people. He tortured some, he killed others. At one point he even threatened to lock the innocent daughter of a baddie in a hotel infected with a deadly virus. Bauer wasn’t afraid to be a bad guy to get what he wanted. There’s a quote from the debut episode of Season 7 that sums him up in an interesting way.

The people that I deal with, they don’t care about your rules. All they care about is a result. My job is to stop them from completing their objective, at all costs.

The point is that in 24, Jack Bauer made many, many difficult decisions during the 9 seasons of 24. The Walking Dead Season 1 was the same. There were many difficult choices made. Some saw the deaths of characters or lead to major consequences for later episodes. While I can’t be certain that they could convince Kiefer Sutherland to reprise the role of Jack Bauer one more time. I’d certainly say, that if it could happen. It should happen.

The potential for what Telltale Games could do with these franchises is amazing to think about, I’m sure you guys might have other ideas? Sound off in the comments below on what you’d like to see Telltale make a game off.

These are all very interesting ideas! Though, right now, I’m just excited for Telltale’s take on Batman, as well as what their mystery Marvel title is!
