Husky Finds An Abandoned Box In The Woods. What She Finds Inside Makes Her A Hero.
Dogs are amazing animals and they can often sense danger when it’s approaching. When one Husky was out in the woods she immediately felt that something was wrong. As she continued walking, she sniffed out a box and approached. What she found inside would mark her as a hero forever.
Meet Banner the Husky, a highly dedicated service dog. Banner is three-years-old and has a heart of gold as she is always looking for ways to help out. That’s why her owner is so grateful to have her.
Whitney Braley has had Banner since she was just a little puppy. Braley has trained Banner to help with PTSD episodes, anxiety attacks, medication retrieval, and other incredibly helpful things. However, that’s not all Banner is good at.
18. Rescue Animal
Banner also happens to be excellent at rescuing other animals and people from dangerous situations. She has been trained to help out in a variety of different situations. Banner absolutely loves being of service to others!
“She alerts to PTSD episodes, anxiety attacks, migraines, guide work, momentum pull, medication retrieval, self-harm interruption and a few more,” Whitney told Bored Panda. One day, Banner was given the perfect opportunity to showcase her skills!
One day, Banner was walking around through the woods when she came across a strange box with no one else in sight. Banner carefully approached the box and was surprised by what she found inside!
Inside of the box was a litter of kittens! There were seven of them to be exact and they appeared to be on the verge of death. After all, they all appeared to be freezing and in need of food.
Luckily for the kittens, this isn’t the first time Banner was around small kittens. This is because Braley is often saving and rescuing stray cats. “We do a lot of rescues, and she’s always attached to kittens,” Braley told Bored Panda.
13. Taking Care
“Two years ago I had my first bottle baby kitten that was found in a ditch, and Banner raised her. That particular cat still lives with us but she’s fostered at least ten different litters of kittens over the years. This is the first time SHE found something like this.”
12. Taking The Lead
While it is usually Braley that leads the rescue efforts, the discovery of the kittens was all Banner’s idea. It started with Banner whining a lot and pulling Braley over to a random section of the woods. At first, Braley ignored her pleas.
However, Banner refused to give up that easily and she continued to persuade Braley to listen to her. Eventually, Braley realized that Banner was serious about there being something in the woods she wanted her to see.
So, Braley followed Banner into the woods near their home in Georgia. Banner eventually led her directly to the abandoned cardboard box. Once Braley opened it, she saw the seven sad kittens that were desperately in need of help.
The kittens looked absolutely frozen and they were in need of immediate care. “Someone must have just put them into a cardboard box, closed the lid tight, and left them there to die,” Braley said to Metro. It was an upsetting sight.
“They probably thought no one would ever discover them. I don’t even know how Banner knew they were in there. The kittens were freezing and weren’t meowing or anything.” Braley immediately took the kittens home with her.
7. Caring For Them
Braley immediately began to care for the kittens, which involved getting them warmed up and well-fed. Soon enough the kittens began to show signs of getting better! Banner also helped in her own ways.
6. Standing By
Banner refused to leave the kittens and was constantly by their side. She immediately took on the role of foster mom to the little kitties. Banner just seems to have a natural maternal instinct.
“She is a really maternal and loving dog. I’ve never met another dog like Banner,” Braley said. “The kittens are really lucky. If she didn’t find them, there is no way they would have made it.”
4. Few Weeks
Now the kittens are a few weeks old and they’re doing better than ever. Braley is going to continue to take care of the kittens until they are old enough to be adopted by some wonderful families.
“Now I will find the kittens appropriate homes, that will love them forever. Our local shelter kills in three days, so it’s best if I do it myself. That’s the reason I always end up fostering babies. I don’t want them to die.”
2. Banner’s Help
“I’m so happy that because of Banner, these kittens will go on to live their lives with loving families. It warms my heart.” Banner was truly an amazing hero.
1. True Hero
Thanks to Banner’s heroic efforts these wonderful kittens will be living a great life in their forever homes. Banner deserves a ton of recognition for her efforts and thanks to her social media accounts tons of people have been able to share their praise of her.
