Cat With One Eye Saves His Brother’s Life Who Is Completely Blind

When two cats were discovered wandering around in a backyard it was obvious that the duo was inseparable. A woman had seen them struggling to find food so she began to feed them. However, she soon realized what made this pair so unique.

Outside in a backyard area there were two stray kittens that would always hang around. The stray cats were twin brothers and they were absolutely inseparable. They loved each other very much.

Then one day, a kind woman from Sydney, Australia noticed that they had been hanging out in her backyard. She felt bad for them and decided to head out to give them some food. That’s when she noticed something unique about them.

Upon closer inspection, the woman noticed both of the cats had an abnormality in their eyes. She quickly picked up the kittens and decided to bring them to the vet’s office.

The woman brought the kittens to the vet where she got some pretty intense news. Both of the cats were in need of extensive medical attention. However, the woman just couldn’t afford them.

16. Reaching Out

Since the woman couldn’t afford to pay for the medical treatments she decided to reach out to local shelters for some help. However, no one wanted to take the cats in. That is, until, Inner City Strays heard about the situation.

Once Inner City Strays heard about the brothers they knew they had to offer help. They named the pair Stevie and Isaac. Even though the rescue center was at maximum capacity Diana Dammery of Inner City Strays couldn’t turn them away.

Both boys have been born with deformed eyelids and a condition where the eyelashes turn inwards and rub on the pupils,” the rescue said. Due to this condition, Isaac began to develop ulcers on his eyes and Stevie was completely blind.

13. Still Healthy

Despite their eye condition, the two brothers were still perfectly healthy cats and had a great energy about them. Both of the brothers were in need of immediate surgery to prevent the spread of infection. Finally, the brothers were able to undergo surgery.

According to Love Meow, “Dr. Mark at SASH and Dr. Olivia at Balmain Veterinary Hospital reconstructed an eyelid for Isaac to protect his good eye.” Both of their blind eyes were removed as well.

11. Recovering

Even though they both underwent a pretty serious surgery, they were able to recover quickly. “Less than 24 hours after their big surgeries Stevie and Isaac started playing like nothing ever happened,” the rescue said.

10. Fully Blind

Since Stevie is fully blind now, he completely relies on his brother for guidance. Any time Stevie gets disoriented or confused, Isaac is always close by to ensure that his brother stays safe. You won’t believe what Stevie also does…

9. Calling Out

Any time Stevie gets confused or scared he will call out for his brother. You can hear Stevie meow for Isaac who is never too far away. These two are still as inseparable as when they were found in the backyard.

Even though Stevie is completely blind and Isaac has limited sight in his eye these two still live life with great energy. People are always so surprised to see these two playing together just like any two cats normally would. They even chase one another around!

Then one day, a couple came across the two brothers and immediately fell in love with them! They knew they had to be the ones to adopt the brothers. So, that’s exactly what they did!

6. Adopted

The brothers were then adopted by the loving couple and it didn’t take them long to get used to their new settings. “They are spoiled rotten, and their brotherly love is as strong as ever.” It’s now been a year since the brothers, now renamed Buddha and Mogwai, were rescued.

We love them so much,” their owners reported. “We feel so lucky to have found them. They are so beautiful and bring us endless love. We had wanted cats for a long time but never would have thought that we would end up with cats this perfect.”

Stevie and Isaac’s story is one of survival, resilience and brotherly love. Their disability has no negative impact on their quality of life whatsoever,” the rescue said. “We learned so much from this pair and they will always hold a special place in our hearts.”

3. Enjoying Life

The brothers are continuing to enjoy their lives. The pair can often be spotted cuddling or playing together. However, whatever they are doing they are doing it together!

Buddha and Mogwai’s story is a true story of resilience. These two cats have managed to prevail throughout some pretty hard circumstances. In the end, they’re happier for it and living out their lives in a loving home!
