Tiger Cub Was On The Brink Of Death, Recovers Miraculously After Meeting Her New Best Friend
Even though it might not seem like it, circus animals don’t have an easy life. While they might look amazing when displayed in front of the public, they are often neglected behind the scenes. This is the story of a 9-month-old tiger cub named Aasha that looked horrific after traveling with the circus for a few months. Fortunately for the tiger cub, the In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center saved her!
20. Unhealthy Cub
This is how bad Aasha looked when she was first brought to the In-Sync center. The circus life is not for cubs and looking at Aasha, we can clearly tell that her future didn’t look bright.
19. The In-Sync Center
Fortunately for Aasha, she was taken in by the In-Sync Exotics Wildlife Rescue and Educational Center in Texas. This center is known for taking in unhealthy wild animals and saving their lives. You won’t believe what everyone thought when they first saw Aasha.
18. Small Cub
Seeing how Aasha looked like when she first arrived at the In-Synch center, the founder of the rescue couldn’t believe his eyes how small the tiger cub was. This terrified him and he doubted that the tiger will ever recover. This is what he had to say about Aasha.
17. Aasha Might Not Make It
“How could a 9 month old tiger be so small?” asked Vicky Keahy who is the founder of the rescue. To make things even worse, Aasha was in pain and no one knew what was hurting her.
16. In Pain
The little cub was hurting and everyone’s hearts were breaking because they didn’t know how to help her. Fortunately, they were quick to find what was causing her pain after a full checkup. You will be shocked to find out what Aasha had!
“Aasha’s bald spots covered almost her entire body and her skin was dry with cracked, darken areas and bleeding” said Keahy. Luckily, they found out that she had a ringworm and they didn’t waste any time and removed it ASAP. On the other hand, her wounds were caused by something more serious…
14. Bad Wounds
Aasha was covered with serious wounds which were causing her to bleed. Sadly, these wounds were caused by other bigger and meaner tigers that she was caged with. This explained one thing about Aasha’s weird behavior…
13. Fearful Tiger
Unlike other tigers, Aasha was always alone. She didn’t like spending time with other tigers and the rescuers believe that this was caused by the fact that she was hurt by the zoo’s other tigers. But something had to be done quickly, otherwise, the cub will never recover…
After finding out that Aasha is diagnosed with a ringworm, the rescuers put her in isolation. This is when things started looking good for the little cub. She was being given the right medication and food which were helping her grow. Check out the next picture to see how Aasha takes care of herself.
11. Clever Tiger
To everyone’s surprise, Aasha was making a quick recovery and she didn’t need anyone to help her. She went and drank water by herself, something which the rescuers were supposed to teach her. This was great, but something was still missing. And you won’t believe what it was…
10. Something is Missing
Aasha was finally in good health, but something was missing. It seemed like she needed something but the rescuers just couldn’t tell what it was. Luckily, they quickly figured out what was missing in Aasha’s life.
9. Someone to Keep Her Company
While Aasha might not the biggest tiger around the park, she is definitely looking healthy. Not only that, but her mood also improved. The only thing she needed next was a friend! You won’t believe how the rescuers were able to tell what Aasha wanted.
8. Meet Smuggler
The big tiger is called Smuggler and as you can clearly see, Aasha is interested in him. This is what made the rescuers realize that they need to get the two together. Check out what Keahy had to say about this.
7. Making Friends
“Within eight months she looked like a real tiger, and it was time to see how she would react to others”, said Keahy. Seeing how Aasha took an interest in Smuggler, the rescuers decided to put the two together. You won’t believe how they reacted when they way one another!
6. Making a Friend
The rescuers didn’t waste any time and put Aasha and Smuggler in the same cage. The two tigers got along perfectly and they loved spending time with each other. Check out the next picture to see how happy Aasha is next to Smuggler.
5. Happy Lion
The two tigers were enjoying each other’s presence and this meant only one thing, the rescuers needed to start a dating process. Let’s see how Aasha and Smuggler’s supervised play dates went.
4. Supervised Play Dates
Even though the two tigers would fight every now and then, it never got serious. Aasha and Smuggler were having the time of their lives! They even started taking baths together.
3. Bath Time
At first, Aasha hated taking baths but ever since Smuggler started joining her, her opinion on baths changed. Considering how bad Aasha looked when she first arrived at the In-Sync center, the rescuers were amazed to see how much she was enjoying life.
2. Officially Dating
After a couple of weeks of going on supervised play dates, the rescuers finally decided to move the two in the same cage. Therefore, Aasha and Smuggler were now officially married!
1. Happy Ending
While Aasha’s story might have a happy ending, this is not the case for all circus animals. Let’s hope that the In-Sync center keeps on taking in wild cats and saving them from the horrors of performing at the circus.
