15 Perfectly Timed Military Photos

15. Ejected in the Nick of Time

Image: Grizly

It’s a good thing this soldier deployed when he did, otherwise things could have ended quite differently! The fact someone was able to capture this moment so perfectly is a real sight to behold, although it definitely shows off the real dangers of war. This isn’t a video game, that’s for sure.

14. Not the Best Time for a Selfie

Image: Grizly

We think this pilot would probably be better off watching what’s going on around him rather than taking Air Force flight selfies. Um, you might want to take a quick glance to the side of you there, sir!

13. PETA Would Not Approve

Image: Grizly

We understand that war is a dog-eat-dog situation, but we didn’t know that dogs were literally apart of the training exercise process. This soldier and his furry pal are most likely dropping behind enemy lines with the hopes of sniffing out some bombs!

12. That Bullet is Looking for a Target

Image: Grizly

The person taking this photograph is certainly playing some Russian roulette. That bullet looks like it’s about to find its target and we certainly don’t want to be on the receiving end! Duck, sir, duck!

11. Exploding Donuts!

Image: Grizly

It’s absolutely breathtaking being able to view these tanks and their anti-tank rounds going off mid-air. This is definitely a rare moment captured on camera. They really look like donuts, don’t they?

10. Sonic Boom Captured

Image: Grizly

No this isn’t four planes on top of each other, this is actually a sonic boom captured on camera! Pretty cool, right? Personally, we have no interest in being in a plane going that fast.

9. You Might Want to Pull Up!

Image: Grizly

It seems this plane might have aimed a little too low when pulling off its fancy maneuvers. We hope the pilot was able to pull up fast enough and this didn’t end in a fiery inferno. Fingers crossed!

8. Boom, Baby!

Image: Grizly

Now that’s what we call a powerful missile launch. Just look at how the missile leaves behind a ring of fire and also blasts the water’s surface. We’re guessing the target didn’t fair too well after this.

7. No Phone Calls on the Battlefield

Image: Grizly

This United States army officer was most likely taking new orders. Unfortunately, he should have been more aware of his surroundings. This is a truly terrifying look at the horrors of war. One moment you are on the phone with your commander and the next surrounded by mortar fire.

6. A Rain of Bullets

Image: Grizly

How cool is this photograph capturing the hail of bullets during a skirmish? You never really know how many bullets are getting pumped out of those guns until you see them frozen in time. Incredible to say the least!

5. I’d Back Up If I Were You

Image: Grizly

We love how this soldier is standing so casually next to the man shooting the rocket launcher. We had no idea so much fire and flame came out of one of those things. It’s pretty impressive to say the least, though we can promise you we’d be nowhere close to that thing.

4. Bombs Away

Image: Grizly

The fires of war are nothing to joke about. They bring ultimate destruction and can cost many their lives. This powerful photo shows the moments after bombs are dropped–clouds of fire and expansive destruction.

3. Don’t Look!

Image: Grizly

This might be a ridiculous thought, but we would think you would want to look where you’re shooting. Just a crazy suggestion we know, but this photograph is definitely amazing. War is not pretty and obviously this soldier is trying to protect his face from the incoming fire.

2. 1…2…3…FIRE!

Image: Grizly

We’d duck too if we had to set that off. Talk about a perilous yet brave job. It’s amazing how technology can capture such a moment that most would “blink and miss.”

1. Hats Off!

Image: Grizly

This photograph was taken during the U.S. Naval Academy’s graduation ceremony. A moment of pure joy and celebration after months and months of hard work. It’s wonderful to see so many men and women proud to serve our country.
