10 Best Superhero Games
4. X-Men Origins: Wolverine (Uncaged Edition)
Unlike the X-Men film upon which the game was based, this video game is spectacular in that it allows you to really feel as though you’re unleashing Wolverine in all his fury and power as you follow a plot loosely based on the film. You can see your foes tear his body up with their bullets and claws but Logan just heals and keeps on going. There are a few puzzles but, this isn’t really a game you play to challenge your mind. You’ll unlock quite a few new moves that you can use to surprise the legions of enemies you’ll face.
With concept unlike any other, Watch_Dogs aimed to give players gameplay and a story that embraces the present day world in new ways. Aiden Pearce was just a hacker until his niece is killed in a hit because of a heist he pulled. Sure, a lot of this is more or less impossible in real life without a system like the CtOS, but the game is great nonetheless. You feel as though you can actually do good for the NPCs around you. You can either be a terrifying cyber superpower, or a secret superhero all with your trusty cell phone and a few points to upgrade battery life.
2. Infamous: Second Son
There’s admittedly quite a few obvious flaws with this superhero game when you compare it to its predecessor, but it gets far more right. The gameplay and combat mechanics in Sucker Punch’s Infamous: Second Son have been refined and you’re free to use your colourful powers to apprehend foes rather than just kill them. As Delsin Rowe, you’re able to use the city to fuel your powers. Smoke, neon, and concrete will allow you to sprint up the sides of buildings, fire bright bolts at enemies, and more. The only catch is, you may need to play the previous games to really get what’s going on in the Single-Player.
1. The Incredible Hulk
If you’re feeling a little more destructive, maybe 2008’s The Incredible Hulk will suit you. Loosely based on the film of the same name, Marvel’s green rage monster voiced by Edward Norton, is yours to control. It plays very much like 2005’s The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction but with updated graphics that makes the destruction that much more fun.
