  1. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst

This June 2016 video game is a reboot of 2008’s Mirrors Edge puts you in the shoes of Faith once again as she attempts to overthrow a hostile corporate government who rules the city of glass. Focused around Faith’s origins, Mirror’s Edge Catalyst not only has free-running and parkour elements found in the previous Mirror’s Edge, but also showcases a new open world element as well as an entirely overhauled combat system that focuses on martial arts and melee rather than gunplay. Mirror’s Edge Catalyst will show you where Faith’s journey began when it releases on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One on June 7th, 2016.

Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir is an HD Remake of the highly praised Playstation 2 game Odin Sphere, which is based in Norse Mythology and showcases the stories of five different individuals who show differing perspectives on the beginnings of the Norse Ragnarok. This action RPG remake showcases new HD artwork, new stages, combat enhancements (with an option to play with the original, unaltered game mechanics of Odin Sphere) as well as new English voiceovers exclusive to Odin Sphere: Leifthrasir. When the Kirby: Planet Robobot video game releases on June 10th, 2016. Kirby fans will have all the intergalactic Kirby gameplay they could want and more, only on Nintendo 3DS.

After numerous delays, it seems that Mighty No. 9 is finally going to be released! Unless it gets delayed again, fans of Mega Man will be able to enjoy Mighty No. 9, a spiritual successor that puts you in the role of Beck; an android who must save the world after a virus attacks all of the world’s machines, including his fellow androids. Barring any major delays, fans of Mega Man will finally be able to get their hands on Mighty No. 9 with its release date scheduled for June 21st, 2016.

Umbrella Corps is an all new spinoff of the Resident Evil series of video games, and is a competitive shooter that puts players in the role of mercenaries from one of two different corporations, both of which tasked with finding the Umbrella Corporation’s secrets, as well as eliminating the other corporation’s mercenaries. While it is somewhat disappointing that it lacks a single player campaign, Umbrella Corps will provide fans of the Resident Evil series with a ton of multiplayer fun.  Umbrella Corps will be available from June 21st, 2016.

The highly anticipated adventure survival game No Man’s Sky will be making it debut this June.  Fans are expecting great things from this almost infinite universe where players will be exploring the depths of the galaxy, free to discover, roam and name their newly discovered planets and creatures on it.  No Man’s Sky could be called the most anticipated indie game of all time, let’s hope it meets fan and game critic expectations upon its release date: June 21st, 2016. Mario and Sonic are competing again! This time the two are competing (with all of their friends) at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games. Players will be able to utilize the Wii U gamepad while they compete in various Summer Olympic sports, trying to get the most gold medals. While it has already released on the Nintendo 3DS, Wii U owners will finally be able to get their hands on it when Mario & Sonic at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games releases on June 24th.

Two of the most beloved RPG franchises combine in Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, where the classic gameplay of Shin Megami Tensei blends with characters and gameplay elements of the Fire Emblem Franchise. Players will join a group of young teenagers who are enlisted to fight evil beings called Mirages with the help of friendly Mirages designed around notable Fire Emblem characters. With Shin Megami Tensei’s turn based combat, and Fire Emblem’s weapon triangle, fans of both series will have plenty of fantastic gameplay when this new RPG releases on the Wii U on June 24th, 2016.

It appears that the video game releases for June 2016 will be packed full of content, from shooters to RPGs and party games, all sorts of gamers will have their needs satisfied by this month’s entertainment offerings. As we get into convention season, more and more possibilities will show up, and we’ll be getting new release dates for already announced games.
