Best Funded Games on Kickstarter
When video games hit the big leagues, developers often find themselves making back their invest many times over. A good example of this is the recent release Firewatch, an indie game release which is rumoured to have made its initial investment back in ONE day! Until recently finding the funds to develop a video game has been near impossible, but with the recent success of platforms like Kickstarter, aspiring indie game developers have been able to make their game development project a reality. Today we are having a look at some of the best funded Kickstarter projects, that will hopefully deliver some of the best kickstarted games out there.
Created by Bulkhead Interactive is Battalion 1944, a multiplayer first-person shooter set in the period of World War II. Battalion 1944, before its Kickstarter began, already had many gaming fans excited over the project. Battalion 1944 is seen as one of the best Kickstarter projects as it was able to reach its initial fund goal of £100,000 on Kickstarter in just 3 days.
Kickstarted back in 2012, Wasteland 2 is the sequel to a role-playing game developed by InXile entertainment that is placed in a post-apocalyptic world. Pillars of Eternity
With over 3 million dollars funded by the community, Obsidian Entertainment’s RPG, Pillars of Eternity has been a tremendous success on Kickstarter. Back in 2012 when Pillars of Eternity started with Kickstarter, it was able to reach its initial goal of $1.1 million in a short time, and from then on, it stretched further. We have reviewed Pillars of Eternity, Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part 1 and Pillars of Eternity: The White March Part 2 with nothing but AMAZING feedback from gaming fans. This might well be the best Kickstarter game projects, at least of the Kickstarted video games that we have come across.
Divinity: Original Sin II
Coming in next is an upcoming sequel to the hit fantasy role-playing game by Larian Studios, Divinity: Original Sin. The project kickstarted back in August 2015 and reached a fund of one million dollars on its 4th day on Kickstarter. After a month, it successfully reached an amount of 2 million dollars with a total of 42.000 backers from the Kickstarter community.
