Valkyria Chronicles: Remastered – Reliving a Epic Tale in HD
Valkyria Chronicles deserves a spot on our front page. This tactical role-playing third person shooter bad boy has received a lot of praise from gamers and critics alike. It wouldn’t surprise us if this game is remembered as one of the greats in the future game archives (trust me, it’s that good if you enjoy the genre). Valkyria Chronicles has a perfect mix between story line and gameplay and is just undeniably good in everything it does. The great news is that Sega is releasing the game in a modern jacket, Valkyria Chronicles: Remastered is coming to Playstation 4!
For those new to the game, Valkyria Chronicles is set in a world where two superpowers are at war. This game takes you on a breath taking journey of beautiful landscapes, redefined graphics and sadly; the cynicism of war. I am very tempted to tell you more about other aspects of the game and what makes it so good, but that would mean major spoilers (and I really hate spoilers). Let’s just say that there’s something in Valkryia Chronicles that makes it very unique for its genre.
Speaking of genre, Valkyria Chronicles is a role-playing third person shooter. The game uses a unique tactical battle system called “BLiTZ”, a short term for Battle of Live Tactical Zones. BLiTZ gives you an overview of the map during Command Mode that zooms in to control a specific unit in Action Mode. Having a hard time imagining it? Fear not, we have pictures!
You might be thinking “What? What is this? Where’s the action?” but the Action Mode is amazing, see below.
Valkyria Chronicles: Remastered revisits the original experience in 1080p @ 60 fps. That’s not all, besides the epic storyline and innovative battle system, the remastered version also includes all previously released DLC’s: Hard EX Mode, Edy’s Mission, Selvaria’s Mission, and Challenge of the Edy Detachment. Valkyria Chronicles: Remastered will be available this Spring in both North America and Europe whilst Japan is looking at a February 10th release date.
