Survivors, strap up for the ARK: Survival Evolved latest update! It’s all about death from the sky, pseudo-Batmans and Tribe Alliances! Studio Wildcard’s recent update has been a blast, and it’s getting a lot of praise from its community of players (or rather, survivors)
Watch their hilarious trailer update above!
What’s more appealing than mobility on the ground? Mobility in the sky of course! The Terror Bird or Phorusrhacidae Rapidesultor (I love how I can’t say it) is a mean yet tameable avian. You can consider it your best friend when it comes to combat especially when used for harassing and scouting. You get the full benefit of a fast, mobile theropod while gaining the freedom of air movement from a flyer. Leap and slash your way out of this one angry bird (pun intended).
Ya’ know, grappling hooks are a thing and it sure is fun to have one; especially in a world full of cliffs, mountains and flying, meat-eating birds. The grappling hook offers a game-changing function that makes you go “ZOOM” in different ways. For starters, it can let you scale cliffs, “hook” a flying creature to hitch a ride or wrangle players, prisoners and small creatures to drag along and humiliate (not like I’m suggesting that). Utilising this tool to its maximum potential will definitely make the game a lot more fun.
TLDR; here’s the list of the other updates for ARK: Survival Evolved.
- Tribe Alliances: Now available for both PvP and PvE. Finally, you can now rally your pitchforks against larger tribes! Hurray for micro-tribes!
- All current items are now added to the Master Items ID array.
- Fully Localizable Game Text: No need to Mod for languages anymore, you can now crowd-source translations and dynamic fonts!
- Fishing Upgrade: Coels or Coelacanth Nutritia (I still can’t say it) now come in different sizes. As for the resources it gives, it scales depending on the size of the Coel.
That’s not all, Studio Wildcard is also hosting a $60,000 modding competition! You can submit in one of three categories namely: Mods, Maps and Total Conversions. Entries should be submitted before March 15 though, and the winners will be announced on April 15.
